I photograph the ordinary because there is a tendency to take it for granted and by doing so, to leave it only superficially understood/discovered. Recently, my degree in sociology and human rights has directed my attention to a major theme- social exclusion, which has found its place in my academic and photographic work concerning ethnicity, age and corporeality. I am driven to understand the connections between the individual and collective realities, without neglecting particularities and the risk of generalizing inferences. This makes me think, feel and say that I feel more attracted to documentary photography, though the body of photographic work I have to show so far is diverse in approach. I have a lot of growing up to do, and photography is my means of developing both an understanding of myself and of that there is around me.
