The House on the Hill project is a long term ongoing inquiry concerning the Palace of Parliament in Bucharest, built in the ‘golden age’ of the dictatorial regime. Known as The House of the People, and commonly acknowledged as the second largest building in the world, it encapsulates historical, economical and sociological concerns. The project focuses on the way this building affected the collective memory of the inhabitants of Bucharest, how it is perceived now and the efforts made to integrate it in the torn fabric of a shattered city.
