PROFILE

I really do not like affectedness in photographs. Photographs need to catch the proper moment. If there is the element of the staging photo, it should look like natural. I like to direct the process, but in order to achieve naturalness. Ideally, somebody could look at the photograph and should not even guess that the picture was posed. For example, I like to tell stories of my heroes before shooting, so they might get into the alleged circumstances. It means for both of us to understand the mood and convey the desired image. It seems to be staging a photo, but nonetheless – is natural and alive. Directing, to think – is fine, but the life itself teaches us how vivid and interesting the world is.
